OBJECTIVES
The primary goal of the SPST is to support the exploration and the habitation of space with the following:

  • Enhance the achievement of safe, dependable and affordable space transportation
  • Provide a communications forum for all aspects of the propulsion discipline ยท
  • Promote synergy and consensus building
  • Support long range strategic planning
  • Enhance space propulsion technology research & development communications
  • Assist in space transportation and technology with credible independent assessments

KEY PRODUCTS 

    • The SPST has published considerable material on specific design concepts, operations support, life cycle costs, cost algorithms, exploration roadmaps, lessons learned, propulsion systems, reusable launch systems, design guides and user manuals
    • Performed requirement reviews and workshops that aided NASA to fund large propulsion technology projects
    • Lately support has primarily been in writing papers and making briefings at the AIAA Joint Propulsion Conferences
    • The justification for human space development and habitation beyond low earth orbit:
    • an invitation for an open national and global dialogue

The SPST is available to perform analysis on space propulsion activities that that support our national goals for exploration and space habitation
